Traditional
Neighborhood Design Principles
- A community land plan designed with various neighborhoods,
parks, and greens, all easily accessible to trails providing
a pedestrian friendly environment.
- Neighborhoods will be designed with an integration of building
sites within a fine network of interconnecting streets and alleyways.
- Lot sizes and configurations will be designed to encourage
an efficient use of the land while maximizing community open
space, which will exceed zoning requirements, and the preservation
of historic Rosegill and the conservation of lakes, waterfronts,
and farmland.
- Architecture styles will relate to the features within each
neighborhood. The variety and scale of homes will contribute
to the spatial definition of streets, greens, yards, parks,
and other open spaces.
- Homes will be sited with various relationships to the streets
as found in the neighboring town of Urbanna.
